Yes there is such a thing as getting too worried too soon. If I were him I'd wait until the Yanks get swept by a team no one thought would contend, such as the Jays (could happen, look at our offense this year - and the big guys aren't even hitting yet!) ... then I'd start freaking. But to do it after losing to the O's, especially so early? Hey, Baltimore's built a good team ... AL East will be the AL's equivalent to the NL Central this year ... maybe even tighter.

He's just a buffoon. A, baseball is a looong season, and it's way too early to make any judgements. But more so, B, you can't goad people into playing better. If they're overpaid, who's fault is that? Whatever a player is paid, they are who they are, and can only perform according to that. They're not machines.
I don't think the AL East will be any big race this year. I can't see either the Jays or the Orioles holding up. But I won't be at all surprised if the Yankees don't even make the playoffs...!

Not everyone thinks the Conservative government is a lock. Canada's opposition Conservative Party, which is set to bring down the minority Liberal government later this week, was hit by a new opinion poll on Monday that showed it was trailing in the country's most vote-rich region. The Leger Marketing poll for the Sun chain of newspapers put support for the Liberals in the powerful central province of Ontario at 43 percent compared with 31 percent for the Conservatives. Ontario, a Liberal stronghold at the federal level for the past 12 years, accounts for 106 of the 308 seats in House of Commons, and no party can hope to form a government without doing well there. . . . Prime Minister Paul Martin's Liberals have been badly hurt by a corruption scandal and Conservative leader Stephen Harper says the government must be defeated as soon as possible. The Leger figures, however, suggest there is no guarantee Harper can end 12 years of Liberal rule. Thanks, ALPF! I must say, I...
This spelling thing everyone keeps warning me about is more complicated than I thought! This page runs through the terms of the debate. Check it out - it's informative and amusing. Thanks to ALPF, of course.
Someone just emailed this to me. +++++++ George: (While preparing bicarb) She invites me up at twelve o clock at night, for coffee. And I don't go up. "No thank you, I don't want coffee, it keeps me up. Too late for me to drink coffee." I said this to her. People this stupid shouldn't be allowed to live. I can't imagine what she must think of me. Jerry: She thinks you're a guy that doesn't like coffee. George: She invited me up. Coffee's not coffee, coffee is sex. Elaine: Maybe coffee was coffee. George: Coffee's coffee in the morning, it's not coffee at twelve o clock at night. Elaine: Well some people drink coffee that late. George: Yeah, people who work at NORAD, who're on twenty-four hour missile watch. Everything was going along so great: she was laughing, I was funny. I kept saying to myself "Keep it up, don't blow it, you're doing great." Elaine: It's all in your head. All she knows is she had a good time. ...

Looks like Georgie's rant worked.

Yup, a clever PR move, ranting just before the team plays the D-Rays. Good timing, Georgie.
